The Artifact
Designed and entirely hand-constructed by Emanuel Bianco. Grounded in Scandinavian architectural discipline and honed within the high-fashion ateliers of London and Milan, Luxury Scraps is a return to the origin of pure craft. Born in Sardinia and assembled in Apulia, this bag is a visceral, unrepeatable artifact—engineered with the precision of a structural designer, but crafted with the soul of an artisan.
The Materials
A compact, structured shoulder bag that explores the unexpected harmony of archival textiles. This 1-of-1 bag is crafted from a 1990s Italian basket-weave upholstery fabric paired with a striking, shiny checkered taffeta. The design is defined by a delicate handmade fringe along the top edge, meticulously unraveled and shaped by hand from the same upholstery textile. Elevated by hand-sourced 1980s gold hardware and the signature detachable Archive Bloom, this piece balances rugged architectural texture with a luminous, decorative finish.

Archive 25/007 is a study in contrasting light and artisanal patience. The silhouette is anchored by the matte, architectural weight of 1990s Italian upholstery fabric, chosen for its deep basketweave texture. This utilitarian base is juxtaposed with the playful elegance of a shiny checkered taffeta—a material that catches the light with every movement, bringing a liquid-like sheen to the bag’s structured form. The Archival bloom charm complements the contrast of colour with hand assembled leather in pink.
The piece’s most intimate detail is the fringe tracing its top edge. Each strand has been carefully extracted and finished by hand from the base fabric, creating a soft, organic border that softens the bag’s geometry. Assembled by hand in Italy by designer Emanuele Bianco, this piece is a 1-of-1 creation that transforms heavy-duty heritage textiles into a refined, multi-dimensional accessory."
Designer’s Note "The fringe on this bag is a labor of 'deconstruction to reconstruction.' By hand-fraying the 1990s basketweave, I wanted to reveal the internal soul of the textile—the individual threads that give it strength. It creates a tactile transition between the rugged upholstery and the high-shine taffeta, making the bag feel alive and intentionally crafted." — E.B.
